Every life leaves something behind.
Sometimes it's a tradition passed from one generation to the next. Sometimes it's a favorite recipe, a familiar phrase, or a lesson we carry with us every day. Often, it's the quiet ways the people we love continue to shape who we are.
This National Grief Awareness Month, Empathy invites you to experience What Grows Here - a free, interactive public art installation inspired by the idea that legacies live on.
For two days only, visitors are invited to write the name of someone they love, miss, or wish to honor - or share a message of gratitude, remembrance, or hope - and add it to a growing field of wheat. Throughout the installation, every handwritten note becomes part of a living artwork that grows with each contribution, celebrating the people whose influence continues long after they're gone.
Whether you choose to write a message, read the stories of others, or simply pause for a moment of reflection, we invite you to become part of the installation - and help the artwork grow.
